Introduction-Powerful Ford F-150 Lobo 2025
- Similar to the original SVT Lightning, the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo is a street truck with a focus on performance.
- The Lobo treatment comes with a 400hp V8, a body package, a special grille with lights, a lowered ride, and special 22-inch wheels.
- According to Ford, the F150 Lobo will go on sale this fall and has a starting price of $59,995.
From the Raptor to the Tremor, Ford’s full-size pickup truck comes in a variety of off-road-ready models. But up until now, the F-150 has not had a model that puts street performance first. Presenting the Ford F-150 Lobo for 2025. It is basically the SVT Lightning’s spiritual descendant from the 1990s.
Life in LOBO
Since then, Ford has referred to its electric pickup, which produces up to 580 hp but lacks the characteristics that make a street truck unique, as the Lightning.
These distinguishing characteristics, according to Josh Blundo,
Ford’s lead external designer for the F150 and Maverick Lobos, include aggressive styling, a reduced ride height, and, in the
case of the F-150, a V-8 and dual exhausts.

That’s why every F-150 Lobo includes a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 that makes 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard (sorry, rear-drive fans), and it has an upgraded automatic two-speed transfer case. The Lobo isn’t just a show truck, either. It can handle a payload of up to 1450 pounds, and it’s rated to pull a trailer that weighs as much as 7900 pounds.
Sure, you can get the same V-8 on other F-150 models, but only the Lobo looks this distinctive. Blundo says a revised suspension dropped the rear end by two inches, and the ride height looks even lower with the addition of a 10-piece body kit.
Unfortunately, the Lobo doesn’t sit nearly as low as its gas-powered Lightning predecessors. The new street truck also rolls on exclusive black-painted 22-inch wheels. They’re cushioned by a set of Bridgestone Alenza all-seasons, which aren’t as grippy as summer rubber but measure 275/50.

MSRP $39,645–$77,495
The F-150’s STX trim level offers a package called Lobo. The latter, however, needs the 5.5-foot cargo bed, the crew-cab (also known as SuperCrew) body design, and the previously described V-8, all-wheel-drive setup in order to be converted into a street truck.
The starting price of the 2025 Ford F-150 Lobo is $59,995. It is scheduled to be on sale later this fall and will be constructed at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan, factory.
