About half an hour after getting into the 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS, my wife asks herself, “Does this car make you want to drive faster?” (Oh, no. It is here.) However, she goes on: “Because would. Just listen to that exhaust, please. (What, wait?) Yes, occasionally notice that am moving far more quickly than had planned when glance down at the speedo. However, is that exhaust sound little excessive in your opinion? “No, not at all,” she answers. “It has nice growl.”

SOUND ON - 2025 Porsche Cayenne

She’s absolutely right, 2025 Porsche Cayenne the new Cayenne GTS growls with authority. That deep rumble begins the moment you fire it up, and it really unleashes thunder when you bury the accelerator. Unlike the last GTS we drove, the 2021 Coupe, it didn’t require the optional tuned exhaust from that model. No worries, though: Porsche has made that aggressive, rorty exhaust standard on the 2025 GTS, which partly explains the uptick in base price.

Floor the throttle and it now roars at 86 dB, up from the 82 dB produced by the tuned system in 2021. Yet at a steady 70 mph, it calms down to a refined 66 dB, just like before.

That louder roar under full throttle likely stems from the upgraded V-8. Now boasting 493 hp and 486 lb-ft of torque—gains of 40 hp and 29 lb-ft over the previous GTS, it benefits from several enhancements:

a higher-pressure fuel-injection system of 2025 Porsche Cayenne ; electronically controlled wastegates for sharper throttle response; mono-scroll turbos that better withstand high exhaust heat; and a variable‑lift intake cam that boosts high-RPM performance without sacrificing mid-range efficiency.

As a result, 2025 Porsche Cayenne highway fuel economy has improved by about 3 mpg, now rated at 22 mpg. While some of these upgrades are shared with the new V-8 Cayennes , Porsche has tuned the GTS to run with increased boost. Plus, Porsche has sharpened the gear-shifts in Sport and Sport Plus modes for even more immediate performance.

ACT FASTER

Thanks to these upgrades of 2025 Porsche Cayenne, acceleration has genuinely improved. The 2025 GTS sprints to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, reaches 100 mph in 9.2 seconds, and covers the quarter-mile in 12.1 seconds at 112 mph.

That eclipses the performance of the 2021 Cayenne GTS Coupe, which recorded 3.9 seconds to 60 mph, 10.2 seconds to 100 mph, and a 12.5-second quarter-mile at 110 mph  All this comes even though the new GTS is heavier—5,145 lb versus the Coupe’s 5,014 lb.

HIGHS: V-8 thunder, composed ride, grippy handling and braking

It doesn’t end there. All new 2025 Porsche Cayenne roll on larger 31-inch tires—up from 30 inches before. That extra inch hardly seems like much, but the beefier rubber helps smooth out cracks that the previous model would have rattled over. Even in Sport mode, the GTS rides smoother than expected.

Much of the credit goes to the switch to two-valve adaptive dampers—separately tuning compression and rebound—and two-chamber air springs, which lower the ride height by about 0.4 inches (10 mm) compared to other Cayennes with air suspension (2025 Porsche Cayenne)

Our test car also featured Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control of 2025 Porsche Cayenne with active anti-roll bars and rear-axle steering—options priced around $3,580 and $1,280 respectively. These systems combine for sharper handling, better body control, and enhanced ride quality of 2025 Porsche Cayenne.

The 2025 Cayenne GTS rides on Pirelli P Zero Corsa PZC4 tires (285/40 ZR 22 front and 315/35 ZR 22 rear) wrapped around 22‑inch wheels—up from the previous generation’s 21‑inch setup Additionally, the front end benefits from an extra 0.58° of negative camber—thanks to upper pivot bearings borrowed from the Turbo GT—resulting in sharper turn‑in and enhanced steering precision

The result: a chassis of 2025 Porsche Cayenne that feels direct and controlled without venturing into twitchy territory. Through corners, it tracks balanced and holds its line with confidence. On the skidpad, lateral grip improves slightly—recording about 1.01 g versus the previous model’s 1.00 g—even though this GTS weighs around 131 pounds more.
